4th post visual texture and balance

area were someone was done with them.

  1. Fiber arts are under served and under appreciated. I love that these quilts emphasize different things. In all three there is a unifying theme of feminine garments in one way or another. The third one had great bilateral symmetry and the contrast between the somber dress and the vibrant background provides great emphasis. The first one has your eye following the shape around the edges of the dress and down the dimensional folds of the skirt before settling on the subtle cigarette decoration at the waist. And the texture on the Klimt homage is stunning! Do you use a sewing machine with a walking foot or do you have a long arm with a frame? Great work!

  2. Vanessa - I don't have a long arm. I use a walking foot often and a darning foot (free-motion quilting).
