These three images are part of a project that I started in my lighting class last semester, "still life with meaning". The first image is my grandmothers pearls, laying across part of her wedding dress. The second image is a collage with my grandmother's wedding dress, my grandfathers tie, the wedding pearls and her wedding band. The third image is her mirror, perfume, beaded evening purse, wedding pearls and wedding band. They were married in October of 1931 in San Francisco. I am continuing this project photographing many of the items that I have myself and borrowing other items from my mother. It has been a very emotional project but deeply fulfilling and I plan to do a book with these images at the end of the project. Everything was photographed in natural light in my home studio!
