Title: "The Robot Quarterly"
Media: Digital/Graphic Design
Size: 8"x 10"
Date Completed: Spring 2013
This is an example of a magazine layout I created in Photoshop and completed for Graphic Design II. The background image used is a digital painting created by my husband. I've always enjoyed this painting and thought it would be a great piece to use as a magazine cover. I came up with the magazine "articles" and used two different fonts to help tie into the magazine image; a nice bold font for the main title and for most of the body copy, and a script font that added a nice contrast and balance with the overall image. The font colors: yellow and white; were picked as a contrast to the purples and reds which helps the main content points standout and grab the casual browser's attention.

Hi Sunshine, I love the layout of your magazine. It's very comic book style, and the garish purple gives such a sense of science fiction. You're good with layout. Nice work. Jaime
ReplyDeleteLove the magazine cover! The robots pose, the weird blob scared face and the direction of lighting all scream "Magazine cover".
ReplyDeleteThe color combination, outline, and symmetry of your design all pull the viewer into the images and holds them there. The colors also reflect the "death" theme very well.
The bunny! The simplicity of the rabbit and lettering encompass the whole idea of Alice in Wonderland. Great work Sunshine=^.^=
