Shadow Man - Second Post

Title: Shadow Man
Media: Photoshop
Size: 11 x 14
Date: Spring 2013

After I learned to do masks and layers in Photoshop, things just clicked for me.
I was able to put my subjects into the settings that "fit." Each male dancer is a
different layer. The dancer in the back is turned down to about 30% opacity.
This grassland is out by the Phippen Art Museum. A textured concrete layer
was then applied, along with the sepia tone to give the over all photo a
weathered and mystic look.

Nice work. The following comment is if you really want to get into composite work.

The next level of composite work in Photoshop is to deal with the focus (depth of field) and light. Because of the size of the image, I cannot be sure about my comments. But it looks like the closest person’s focus and lighting do not match the rest of image. For focus you will need to deal with the image and the blending into background image. For the lighting, it is difficult work to get the light levels and direction and shadows all correct. When you have it right, even the trained observers have trouble figuring out what you have built.

    Nice work. Have fun.
