I really like this piece. I find the way you've balanced the small piece to the left as the sizes of the other pieces increase as your eye moves to the right. Also, the use of the color in the center, with the black on the left and shades of grey on the right really contribute to the pleasing balance of the piece. As to texture, the background textured look provides a "place" for where the stoneware is; Also, the texture created in the feathers adds to and complements the more surfaces of the ceramics.
