Art 232 is a capstone course for Yavapai College fine artists, photographers and graphic designers. Student artwork demonstrates their understanding and competency in core foundation courses, electives, and Adobe software. The form and color of your first image are visually appealing, with good proportions and shadows. The second image seems very stylized with excellent shading in the skull and less believable depth with the horns and background. The third image has a somewhat flattened and distorted quality (which might have been a goal). If you are going to distort a geometric shape like a clock face then it needs to look very deliberate and planned and not just a bit "off." Interesting concept but not effectively executed. I would have like to have seen the queen of hearts card look like a real card in a deck with the stylized iconic image, and for the chess pieces to be proportionate to each other and of a matching color. The detailing on the brass clock face is extraordinary. Nicely done!
ReplyDeleteSam "A Pretty Face" has nice shadow and lighting to it. "Demon Skull" is very well colored and proportioned. The depth of the image, colors, and background work very well together. And "Alice's Fall" is most certainly my favorite. It reminds me a lot of the work of Salvador Dali in it's somewhat warped appearance and surrealistic feel. Once again the colors work so well together.
