  1. Your loose painterly line has a peaceful gentle feeling. I appreciate how you crop into the action. Your last painting also pulls me in with the contrast in size between shapes, great variety.

  2. Rachel: Your first piece "Breakfast at My Table" has a timeless feel that runs in the same vein as Henri Matisse. Your muted color palette with pops of bold color portrays the scene as just another relaxed breakfast. It makes me want to sit down and enjoy the yummy breakfast :)

  3. I really enjoy the lost brush work, and the slightly abstracted form n your first piece. My favorite piece s the last one. I feel that the calmness n that one s le the calmness before the storm. Because t s right next to the road so you now there should be nose and you feel like ts coming.

  4. Hi Rachel, This is the first time I've really looked at your paintings. I just love your painting style. The still life is beautiful. But your other two pieces have such a moment in time, photographic feeling to them--particularly Indeterminate Future. The viewer has to wait for the truck to pass to know what lies behind it. Nice work. I look forward to seeing more. Jaime

  5. The color and perspective within "Indeterminate Future" give me a feeling that no matter what its gonna be okay. The subtle hints of color produce a calming effect, sort of like a dream. Very well done!

  6. Your painting really draw the viewer in and give a sense of magic and whimsey. I especially like the " intermediate future" It gives me a feeling of nostalgia. Very beautiful work.
